Destructor: Forever in leather

11/05/11  ||  Daemonomania

Destructor, you suck-tor, I fuck whores. Where’s my No Limit record deal? Where’s my pool filled with hot bitches?

Well, if neither of these things is forthcoming I guess I’ll just write a fucken review for this boring piece of shit then. No shells of corn, no blood, no unusual colors or textures – just plain old brown fecal matter in a large pile at the bottom of the bowl. Destructor don’t even suck enough to be offensive. “Forever in leather” is bland, lifeless, flat, dull, uninspired, hackneyed, trite, humdrum, jejune, and some more adjectives I can’t think of right now.

This reminds me of Kataklysm’s material post “Shadows and dust”. There is riff thievery going on all over the place, but if you’re gonna bother to steal riffs why not choose GOOD ones? Kittyjizzum and Destructor borrow from a bag of blah, weaving together a tapestry of third-rate guitar lines that have seen more action than Sylvia Saint’s anus. The Northern hyperbaconblasters plumb the depths of the death and black scrap heap, whereas Ohio’s finest scrape dirt from the well-trod shores of thrash, power, and speed.

Vocals are your typical whiteguy who can’t sing semi-snarl. Drums are pedestrian. The lyrics are weak, but given song titles like the stunning “Unearth the earth” or the totally heterosexual “Pounding warriors” whaddya expect? About the only thing that sticks out in my mind from this whole thoroughly unthrilling experience is the solo in “Doomed something we wish we had written “Trapped under ice”“. Rabid, Flammable, Overkill, Boulder – hang your shit up. 1984 was a long time ago, and no one has cared about this type of weaksauce thrash since. In fact, that may have been the last time you guys had an original idea.
